Indiana’s Extended Learning Opportunities shall allow for students to earn course credit for out-of-classroom learning.

Am I eligible?

All secondary school students can participate.

What is an extended learning opportunity?

Any program outside of the traditional classroom that has educational value. Some examples include: internships, apprenticeships, athletic programming, theatre or music classes, language classes and so much more!

What type of credit can be obtained?

Core and Elective credits (Core 40) can be awarded.

What can this course credit be used for?

The credit a student receives can be counted toward Core 40 graduation requirements.

Who can provide extended learning opportunities programs?

Any approved organization seeking to provide credit under the state’s curriculum model.

How can I find an approved extended learning opportunity?

The the state board of education approves all providers and can direct you to a list of available programs.
